Two suspects accused of ramming a squad car with a stolen vehicle and leading officers on a chase through downtown are in custody this evening, according to Metro Police.
The incident began as an attempted traffic stop about 4:40 p.m. near 9th Street and Ogden Avenue, police said. The driver disobeyed officer commands and took off, crashing into a police car.
During the chase, the male suspect tossed a gun out a car window and struck a pedestrian, police said. The gun was later recovered.
The driver then led officers on a chase that ended in a second crash near Eastern Avenue and Bonanza Road, police said. The suspects, a man and a woman, were caught after a brief foot chase.
Medical crews were called to treat the suspects for minor injuries, police said. No other injuries were reported.
