A man connected to a slaying last month in which a woman was shot in the head in a shopping center on East Flamingo Road near Maryland Parkway was arrested in California two weeks ago and has been extradited to Las Vegas, according to Metro Police.

Frank Campis, 55, was arrested April 13 in Garden Grove, Calif., on a count of murder, police said today.

He’s a suspect in the March 19 death of Latoya Norgina Woolen, 39, who was shot from behind while she was waiting — possibly for a ride — in the 1000 block of Flamingo Road, police said.

It appeared like Norgina did not see the shooting coming and was not robbed. Further details in the investigation were not immediately available this afternoon.

Authorities issued a warrant for Campis’ arrest on April 11, court logs show. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Tuesday.

Campis is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
