Nevada getting $1.2 million in opioid abuse crisis

CARSON CITY — Nevada is getting an additional $1.2 million in federal funds related to the opioid abuse crisis, Gov. Brian Sandoval said today.

The money will go to the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, and most of it will be used by coroners and medical examiners to determine deaths by drug overdoses.

Nevada has already received $8.4 million in federal funds to combat the opioid epidemic, according to the governor.
