While arrest numbers on the Las Vegas Strip and downtown were relatively low on New Year’s Eve, the Nevada Highway Patrol had a busy night.
Troopers arrested 32 people between 5 p.m. New Year’s Eve and noon on New Year’s Day, according to the NHP.
There were 24 people booked for driving under the influence, and eight people were arrested for outstanding warrants, according to police.
Impaired drivers caused four of the 31 accidents on highways in the valley Saturday night, although there were no serious injuries reported by the NHP.
Metro Police reported 20 arrests Saturday night — 18 on the Strip and two on Fremont Street.
