A student was arrested today after officers found a loaded, small-caliber gun in his backpack at Anthony Saville Middle School, according to Clark County School District Police Capt. Ken Young.
The student, a 12-year-old boy, didn’t make any direct threats or display the gun, Young said. Police responded to the school on Torrey Pines Drive near Grand Teton Road after receiving a tip from another student, he said.
The student was arrested and taken to a juvenile detention center, Young said. Further details, including what charges he may face, were not immediately available.
