The right to vote does not give you the right to stuff the ballot box. The right to bear arms should not give you the right to have an arsenal in your home or in a hotel room.
Saying that laws restrict only law-abiding citizens misses a basic point. You cannot be a law-abiding citizen if there are no laws. This is a nation of laws — some good, some not so good.
Apparently existing laws are not the right laws to prevent random shootings. Some are willing to let it go as just another unfortunate occurrence. Most of us, I think, want better laws.
