Police identify driver arrested after multiple cars hit near middle school

Metro Police today identified a suspect accused of striking multiple cars while trying to run over a friend with a car near a west valley middle school Friday afternoon — a dramatic incident captured on video — as Clay Green, 24.

Green was booked in restricted housing at the Clark County Detention Center on two counts of attempted murder and one count of battery with a deadly weapon, police said.

The incident stemmed from an argument between Green and a woman, who police described as a friend, near Johnson Middle School.

Officers responded about 3:40 p.m. to 213 Scherer St., across the street from the school, near Alta and Buffalo drives, police said.

A video posted online shows an orange Ford Mustang driving over a school sidewalk, barely missing a couple of pedestrians, and hitting two vehicles.

Further details were not immediately available.
