Our democracy is under attack. The threat is greater than ever. President Donald Trump has taken over the minds of so many people. You cannot reason with his supporters. He was right when he said he could stand on Fifth Avenue, shoot someone and not lose a vote. He can do no wrong in the eyes of his base. Constant lying, baseless claims and humiliating attacks on others are successful and effective.
Attacking our democracy is acceptable to his base. He has convinced his supporters that the press is the enemy of the people, that the justice system is corrupt and that Vladimir Putin is our friend.
Trump believes that switching blame away from himself to his accusers is effective. He believes what he said in a recent speech in Kansas City, Mo. — what you’re seeing and reading is not what is happening.
The American people must wake up to what is going on.
