Weekend Rewind: Cosmo’s Barbershop, a supermodel at ‘Magic Mike’ and more

John Fogerty

John Fogerty is ready for more Vegas.

Just when you thought the Cosmopolitan was finished adding new elements, it strikes again. We now know that Clique Hospitality, led by Andy Masi with nightlife partners Ryan Labbe and Jason “JRoc” Craig, will open The Barbershop at the Cosmo casino space formerly occupied by the Bond bar. Described as a “fully functional classic grooming salon with a time-tested parlor ambiance complete with a signature, old-world inspired cocktail program,” the new venue is set to debut in early spring. Clique also operates Clique Lounge at the Cosmopolitan, Apex Social Club and Camden Cocktail Lounge at the Palms, and several restaurants on and off the Strip.

British supermodel Adwoa Aboah visited “Magic Mike Live” at the Hard Rock Hotel Friday night and took her party crew backstage after the show to meet with the cast and take pictures, aka the Magic Mike meet and greet.

The great Diana Ross just announced a new show as the next extension of her concert series at Wynn’s Encore Theater in 2019 and now the other frequent performer in that venue has followed suit. John Fogerty will return to the Encore Theater Stage with the revamped “My 50 Year Trip” show, a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Woodstock, for six nights in April.

There’s some new entertainment at the Excalibur inside Dick’s Last Resort, the rowdy restaurant that recently revamped its menu. The Big Bang Dueling Piano Bar, a live music sensation that originated in St. Louis in 2001 and expanded with four other locations across the country, has touched down on the Strip. The musical party goes down every Friday and Saturday night from 9 p.m. until 3 p.m.

Naughty new burlesque show “Little Miss Nasty” is picking up steam at the Night Owl Showroom at Hooters Casino Hotel. The L.A.-to-Vegas show moves to three nights a week this week, Thursday through Saturday at 10:30 p.m. This revue comes complete with a hard rocking edge thanks to a soundtrack from Led Zeppelin, Marilyn Manson, Korn, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against the Machine and more.
