BOSTON — The daily fantasy sports company DraftKings is expanding.

The Boston-based company said Thursday it'll hire about 300 new workers by mid-2019, bringing its total staff from 425 workers to more than 700. At least 600 of the positions will be based in Boston.

DraftKings is also moving from offices near South Station to Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. The company says its planned new office will be more than double the size of its current location.

The relocation is slated for early 2019. The company was founded in 2012 and is the largest daily fantasy sports operator.

The online contests allow users to pick teams of real life players who score fantasy points based on how they perform in games.
