Donald Trump is likely the most anti-children president in U.S. history. His 2017 tax legislation favors children of the 1 percent to the detriment of children of the 99 percent.
Although the child poverty rate is higher than the adult poverty rate and the minimum wage has not been raised since 2009, Trump has not proposed raising the minimum wage. Additionally, he:
• separates children from their parents at the border
• advocated budget cuts for several K-12 programs
• has not proposed known solutions to school shootings
• proposed huge cuts for the food stamp program
• proposed cuts to the child health insurance program.
Given his frequent bullying, profanity and lying, he is far from an ideal role model for children.
