4-year-old boy found unresponsive in pool in Henderson

A 4-year-old boy is in critical condition after being pulled from a Henderson neighborhood backyard swimming pool.

KSNV-TV reports Henderson Police initially received a call Sunday afternoon about a missing child. But as officers were headed to the home, they learned the child had been found unresponsive in a pool.

Crews rushed the child to Henderson Hospital. He then was transported to University Medical Center of Southern Nevada.

Clark County's pool ordinance makes it mandatory that residents with pools have an access barrier.

Henderson police say the home where the four-year-old was pulled from the pool had the proper safety measures in place. It's not clear how the child managed to slip through or how long he was underwater.
