Metro Police on Saturday were investigating a broad daylight shooting that left one dead in a neighborhood near Desert Inn Road and Maryland Parkway.
Shots were fired about 9:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of Athens Street, Lt. Richard Meyers said. Officers arrived to find a victim's body.
Police in an online briefing said one person had been detained, but it wasn't clear how or if that person had been involved in the shooting.
However, investigators this afternoon continued to search for two men they deemed suspects, police said. They were seen fleeing north on Athens.
Additional possible descriptions were not publicly released.
Some witnesses were able to "video some of the events" related to the shooting, police said.
