Although the true story
Might not be exactly as we heard
The story of Thanksgiving
Involves that great big bird.
It’s the time to get together
With those from far and near
To share what we are grateful for
Now and throughout the year.
We need to thank our ancestors
For showing us the way
To build the diverse nation
That we live in today.
Things aren’t always as we want them
But the freedom to complain
Makes our lives so unique
And keeps our thinking sane.
So let us reflect on what we have
And try to work as one
To protect our freedom to choose
A lifestyle comparable to none.
