RENO — Authorities say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a car while in a Reno crosswalk.
Reno police say 63-year-old Deven Dyer Hickingbotham died at a hospital about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, some seven hours after he was run over.
They say the 38-year-old driver is facing three traffic-related charges including driving under the influence causing substantial bodily harm, driving with a revoked license and failing to yield when making a left turn.
Police told the Reno Gazette Journal that they believe Hickingbotham may have been walking his bicycle across a street when he was struck by the car.
They say the driver stayed at the scene and was cooperating with the investigation.
