Updated Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2019 | 3:48 p.m.

North Las Vegas Police say a 36-year-old man was shot to death Tuesday afternoon, and they are searching for two suspects.

The sooting was reported about 4 p.m. in the area of Casa Norte Drive and Rancho Linda, police said. Officers found the victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds, and medics pronounced the man dead at the scene, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates that before the shooting, the victim met with the suspects, who afterward fled in an unknown vehicle, police said.

“Investigators do not believe this is a random act of violence and are looking into the relationship between the victim and suspects,” police said in a news release.

Detectives are not yet prepared to release suspect information, police said.

The Clark County Coroner’s Office will release the victim’s name after family members are notified.

This was the second fatal shooting in the city in less than 24 hours. Police on Monday night shot and killed a man during a sexual assault investigation near Lake Mead Boulevard and 5th Street.

Police responded to the neighborhood and shot the man, who'd jumped in a vehicle and hit multiple vehicles, including a police cruiser, in an attempt to flee, police said.

Officers found a second body in the house they'd responded to, police said. The alleged sexual assault, shooting and slaying were being investigated separately.

Meanwhile, Metro Police this afternoon were investigating a fatal shooting of a man in a southeast Las Vegas neighborhood. The victim was found gravely wounded in the street.
