Daniel Britt passed for two touchdowns and rushed for another today for the Liberty football team in a 38-6 victory against Basic, giving Liberty the Southeast League title and No. 1 seed in the Desert Region playoffs.

Britt connected with Germie Bernard and Moliki Matavao for touchdown passes, and Kanyon Stoneking threw a touchdown pass to Corey Hebert in the second half.

“Our defense played great,” Liberty coach Rich Muraco said. “We did a good job of limiting Basic’s offense and setting up a short field.”

Edward Gastelum had a rushing touchdown and Dillon Fedor kicked a field goal.

Liberty closes the season against Coronado, with the Patriots locked in as the No. 1 seed and the Cougars as the No. 4 seed. Coronado beat Chaparral 40-21 to punch its playoff ticket.
