Football: Cimarron-Memorial High grad Brandon Marshall will play special teams for Denver Broncos, some four months after being cut by Jacksonville
Brandon Marshall wasn’t good enough for an invitation to this football recruiting camp. During the summer before his senior year at Cimarron-Memorial High, Marshall wasn’t deemed a high enough college prospect to earn a spot at the Nike camp in Los Angeles. Mike Waters, his trainer, had to make a few calls to get Marshall, an undersized running back and linebacker, included. “He’s always felt like he was the underdog,” Waters said.

high school sports: Flag football makes its debut as a district sport to give girls another winter option
When a player from the Cimarron-Memorial High School football team jumped offsides Monday during the first half of a game against visiting Arbor View, the referee reached for his flag but decided not to throw it for the obvious penalty. It was the first week of games, and for most of the players, it was their first time playing the sport — a fact referees considered with their restrained penalty calling.

Scoring on the Legacy defense is more difficult than it sounds. The Longhorns have held opponents scoreless in 11 of the last 12 quarters of play. They’re on a nine-quarter scoreless streak after shutting out old Northwest Division rival Cimarron-Memorial 31-0 in a Southwest league game.
