Of all the people selling handmade jewelry and crafts in old town Albuquerque, Juanita Peters was one of the only ones wearing a lot of jewelry. She sports a few pieces made by her sister's husband, and one made by the artist in the space next to her. "I've been making jewelry since I was 9 years old," said Peters, of Santo Domingo Pueblo. She's been selling jewelry at the Historic Old Town Portal for about seven years. The Portal is run by the city of Albuquerque, and there are 15 spaces for vendors. With about 50 permit holders there is a weekly lottery for spaces. - Leila Navidi
