A brief, intense windstorm blew through parts of Henderson after  5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, toppling this 30-foot mesquite tree in the front yard of Derek and Julie Jones at the corner of Leaf Bud Court and Teal Point Lane.  "We're just lucky," Derek Jones said, "that the wind was blowing the direction it did, otherwise it would have landed on our house."  His pregnant wife remarked that her son will grow up without knowing what it's like to have a tree in the yard.
