Rainbow Dreams Academy

A new review of a longstanding district initiative found students at six West Las Vegas elementary schools lag far behind their peers in academic achievement, and are increasingly isolated by ethnicity, poverty and language barriers. The Freedom Schools program, based at the Rainbow Dreams Academy charter school in North Las Vegas, draws many of its participants from the West Las Vegas community. Developed by the national Children’s Defense Fund, the Freedom Schools enrichment program focuses on literacy, family involvement and civic engagement.
