Dotting of the Eyes Ceremony

The Cosmopolitan celebrated the Year of the Horse with a “Dotting of the Eyes” ceremony and street parade Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014. It took place throughout the casino and featured a twisting and turning dragon, lions and dancers. In addition, P3Studio artist-an-residence Alexander Lee, a Polynesian artist specializing in ink paintings, opened his exhibit early for an hour at 2:30 p.m. in honor of the holiday. During the ceremony participants “awaken” the dragon and lions by dotting their eyes with red paint.
