Bocuse d’Or Team USA Selection

Fri, Nov 10, 2017 (3:18 p.m.)

Some of the top chefs in the country gathered at the Venetian for the Team USA National Selection for the 2019 Bocuse d’Or culinary competition. Begun in 1987 by legendary French chef Paul Bocuse, the biennial gastronomic contest is considered the Olympics of the culinary world, pitting 24 of the best young chefs in a timed contest using an imposed ingredient. After never winning a place on the podium, the team from the United States placed second in 2015 and first place in 2017 behind chef Mathew Peters. Chef Matthew Kirkley and his commis MiMi Chen won the selection and will represent the United States in the 2018 Americas Selection in Mexico City for the chance to compete in the 2019 Bocuse d’Or in Lyon, France.
