UNLV loses Aussie finale; chat with Kruger today

UNLV finished its six-game tour of Australia with an 86-84 defeat to the Cairns Marlins on Wednesday night.

The Rebels went 4-2 Down Under.

The Marlins led by 19 points in the second quarter, but the Rebels rallied to take a 75-74 advantage with six minutes remaining.

Tre’Von Willis drilled a 3-point shot and Rene Rougeau converted a steal into a breakaway slam dunk to give UNLV its edge. At the end, Kendall Wallace missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.

Joe Darger led UNLV with 23 points, Willis had 20, Wink Adams scored 14 and Wallace tallied 11.

Rebels coach Lon Kruger will conduct a live chat session with fans from Cairns today at 4 p.m. Yes, that's Las Vegas time, so Kruger will be chatting from the Great Barrier Reef around breakfast time Thursday.
