Rebels in rare position as favorites Saturday against New Mexico
Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014
The Rebels are in a different position this week, depending on how the betting market plays out, and yet after limping home from another double-digit loss it’s hard to imagine UNLV getting extra confidence as the favorite against a Division I opponent for the first time this season.

No progress apparent in UNLV’s latest loss, 33-10 at San Jose State
Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014
The first half of tonight’s game, a contest that presented a chance to save or at least let some light into this wretched UNLV season, featured the road team at peak Rebel. For those who have suffered through enough UNLV performances this year to know their tendencies, it was like a band eschewing the hits for its deep cuts that everyone recognizes but no one wants to hear.
Blog: Rebels drop to 1-5 after 33-10 loss at San Jose State

Bern’s-Eye View: Mountain West Best Bets Week 6
Friday, Oct. 3, 2014
Last weekend’s games moved us a week further into the season and pushed my thinking back a few weeks. UNLV, San Jose State in similar situations heading into Saturday’s game
Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014
They’re coming into Saturday’s game on a three-game losing streak despite some stats favoring them in the last game, and a sparse home crowd likely isn’t going to be much help. That’s San Jose State, not UNLV, but both teams are experiencing roughly the same amount of frustration and optimism at this point in the season ...

Take 5: The biggest factors that must go UNLV’s way in Mountain West play
Friday, Sept. 26, 2014

Bern’s-Eye View: Mountain West Best Bets Week 4
Friday, Sept. 19, 2014
No intra-conference games this week and it’s the last time that will happen this season, so soak it in. The weekend starts with Hawaii trying to get the Mountain West to 2-0 against Colorado this year (Colorado State) and the marquee game is probably the one involving another Pac-12 team.
