The government reported employers cut 159,000 jobs last month, the ninth straight month of job losses.
Looks more and more like the R word. Recession.
Washington will never get it.
Nance-
Fannie Mae and Freddie spent huge amounts of money on the entire Congressional body! Obama was on the list just like McCain and everyone else.
McCains campaign manager was being paid $30,000 per month for 5 years to lobby for Fannie and Freddie. Yes, to lobby for protection against Congress and to support sub-prime loans.
McCain's manager pocketed 1.8 million dollars while Obama was given thousands?
If your name was Newton, you couldn't even find the apple falling from the tree.
The turnaboutis a move McCain has perfected in 26 years on Capitol Hill.
The Arizona senator embraces his party's popular critique of government, frequently invoking the deregulatory rhetoric that has helped Republicans win five of the last seven presidential elections.
But when a crisis or scandal makes headlines and sparks a public outcry, McCain is among the quickest in his party to call for robust government intervention.
The CBS News poll found that President Bush has tied the presidential record for a low approval rating -- 22 percent, matching Harry S. Truman's Gallup approval rating in 1952, when the country was mired in the Korean War and struggling with a stagnant economy.
Unfairly blamed? 78 percent of us believe the Republican administration is an utter failure! Can't say the "buck stops here" because the "buck" isn't worth anything anymore- thanks Republicans for borrowing our future and squandering it on a useless war in the wrong country fighting imaginary weapons that don't exist while allowing Iran to become the default power in a very important region of the world. Bravo!

Now that all of the retired conservative voters have looked at their 401k's during the past week they are now 2-1 in favor of Obama.
Clinton was elected because Bush senior didn't care about the economy and Obama will be elected for the same reason.
It's the economy stupid! McSpend is so rich, he is insulated from the fallout!
This will all get sorted out on November 4th. We the people have had more than enough time to decide which candidate is best suited to be our President.
Bush was elected in 2004 with a margin of 2.4% of over 121 million U.S. voters.
The 62 million that voted for Bush/Cheney made a poor choice.
The 59 million that voted for Kerry/Edwards made a good choice.
Bush earned 418,690 votes in Nevada while Kerry earned 397,190 votes.
(21,000 votes or approximately 2.5%)
In November, Obama will earn about 450,000 votes while McSpend will earn about 350,000.
A decisive win for Obama in the Silver State.
"Being stupid is not leadership."
You are stealing the title of the George Bush documentary coming out next year! Do you have the inside scoop?
Your beloved Bush, the stupid "leader" of the free world, can't even convince Republican congressional leaders to vote with him on the most important American issue since the great depression! Again, smoke something else or leave the room.
Thanks Nance! I will print this slogan on a bumper sticker with a picture of Bush and Cheney. I should be a millionaire by next week!
Can you say Nuclueear?
UPDATED WITH FINAL NUMBERS CBS News and Knowledge Networks conducted a nationally representative poll of approximately 500 uncommitted voters reacting to the debate in the minutes after it happened.
Thirty-nine percent of uncommitted voters who watched the debate tonight thought Barack Obama was the winner. Twenty-four percent thought John McCain won. Thirty-seven percent saw it as a draw.
Forty-six percent of uncommitted voters said their opinion of Obama got better tonight. Thirty-two percent said their opinion of McCain got better.
Sixty-six percent of uncommitted voters think Obama would make the right decisions about the economy. Forty-two percent think McCain would.
These numbers indicate (to anyone with a brain) that a Democrat will be sitting in the White House in January, 2009. If only we could count on a fair election in Florida!
Bush came into office eight years ago complaining that he had inherited a recession. It was brief and mild.
When he delivered his speech Wednesday night, Bush had 118 days left before the next president is sworn in on Jan. 20.
When Bush leaves, his successor will inherit a problem of historic proportions.

WT-
Here is the reality. Obama will be President and he will have a Senate Majority. If they do a better job than the neocons, the House will fall to the Democrats by 2012.
The possibility that Democrats will build a muscular, 60-seat Senate majority is looking increasing plausible, with new polls showing a powerful surge for the party's candidates in Minnesota, Kentucky and other states.
The republican party is being flushed down the sewer of incompetence due to leaders just like McSpend, Palin, Bush, Cheney, and all of the neocons that care only about the politically connected.
