DJ Pauly D
It was a naughty night of bustiers, fishnet stockings and lacy lingerie, and Jersey Shore star DJ Pauly D reigned over it all. Pauly was the guest DJ at the now-legendary Midsummer Night’s Dream masquerade party at the Palms Pool and Rain into yesterday morning’s early hours, and he had everybody in the 1,500-capped crowd fist pumping through the night.
On the red carpet before the party, he said: “This is amazing. I’ve known all about this party for years. When they invited me to DJ for it, I said, ‘Are you kidding me?!’ People asked me if I was going to it, and I said, ‘Going? I’m DJ’ing it!’ ”
The party follows by one week the annual Midsummer lingerie ball that Playboy founder Hugh Hefner throws at the magazine’s bunny hutch headquarters, aka The Playboy Mansion, in Holmby Hills, Calif.
Pauly also talked about his recent lap dance from pop princess Britney Spears in concert. “I kept saying, ‘Is this really happening?’ She pulled me up onstage and gave me a lap dance in front of 20,000 people. Who can say that’s ever happened to them? I couldn’t stop smiling. I’ve been a fan of Britney’s all my life, so for me, it was the best day of my life!”
He also revealed that he had just texted his Jersey Shore co-star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi on the news that she’s signed on for next month’s new Dancing With the Stars. “She loves to dance, so it’s perfect for her. If I was to do the show, it would be much later on down the road.”
Pauly wore a mask for part of his DJ duties behind the wheels of steel. He posed for photographs with several of the performers dressed as sexy angels, thigh-high-clad stripper dancers and fairy-tale creatures for the dress-up or dress-off event. Before the party, Pauly had dinner with friends in Chef Geno Bernardo’s Nove Italiano at the Palms, where he ordered the signature rigatoni Bolognese.
The Fourth Annual Midsummer Night’s Dream inspired by Playboy included body painting, a human butterfly, go-go fairies and mystical creatures scattered throughout the re-created winter wonderland. Actor John Cho was spotted among the crowd of characters.
