For the fifth time, the Latin Grammy Awards are being held at Mandalay Bay. This year is the 13th annual show, and Caetano Veloso was honored Wednesday night as the Latin Recording Academy Person of the Year.
Latin superstars including two-time winner Juan Luis Guerra, Jesse & Jopy, Ricardo Arjona, Edgar Barrera, Carla Morrison, Arturo Sandoval and Ivete Sangalo will walk the red carpet before the Univision broadcast.
Lucero and Cristian de la Fuente host for the second consecutive year with Giselle Blondet and Galilea Montijo. Performers include Pitbull, Sergio Dalma, Pedro Fernandez, Juan Magan, Daniela Romo and Alejandro Sanz, with Gabriel Soto, Mark Tacher and Zuria Vega as presenters at the big night of Latin music.
Red carpet ceremonies start at 1 p.m. on LatinGrammy.com. The official after-part is at LAX in the Luxor with performances by DJ Kane and Maffio and DJs Napoles, Desiree, Nash and Valentino.
Backstage, the stars will be gifted with swag from Distinctive Assets; this year’s haul includes L’Oreal beauty bags, Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Maui Jim sunglasses and Sephora shave kits and fragrances.
The piece de resistance gift is a Las Vegas package that includes a meet-and-greet with the “Pawn Stars” stars hosting a VIP tour of Gold & Silver Pawn and a session at the Studio in the Palms.
