The new topless revue “X Rocks” will really send temperatures soaring when it opens at the Rio on Thursday night, and it will be the only adult cabaret with fire and grinder sparks blazing away.
Producer Angela Sampras and husband Matt Stabile already present “X Burlesque” at the Flamingo and downtown’s “Raack ’n’ Roll” at the D.
Angela promises “elaborate sets with a smoking motorcycle and an ice cream truck, plus, amazing costumes. ‘X Rocks’ is far more theatrical than our other two topless shows. We’ve put in new sound, lighting and videos and made it very intimate.”
Two of the new torrid temptresses arrived here from France to join “Crazy Horse Paris” at MGM Grand. Alexandria Jeannin and Emilie Constantine had fallen in love with the Strip and didn’t want to go back home after “Crazy Horse Paris” closed last October.
Now they’re staying for “X Rocks.” They are joined by Jennifer Roush, Jessica De La Gado and Moorea Wolf for the sexy choreography, and John Bizarre (“The Drew Carey Show”) adds his comedy madness.
Jessica, formerly in the Rio’s Show in the Sky, starred in the recent “Shades of Temptation” at New York-New York and played “Queen Vampire” in Bite at the Stratosphere. Moorea also was seen in “Bite” and Jennifer also at Show in the Sky and most recently in Marshall Sylver’s hypnosis show at Planet Hollywood.
“We’ve got intense, heart-pounding rock songs from artists including Slash & the Conspirators, Muse, Metallica, The Beatles, Awolnation, Alice in Chains, Alice Cooper and Black Sabbath,” Angela said. “We’ve taken some of the most powerful rock songs of all time and combined them with erotic, high-energy choreography and unbelievable sets to create a show unlike anything we’ve ever produced.”
She also told me: “It was perfect timing for us to open another sexy, topless revue with the closing of so many other shows. We were able to get the creme of the crop for ‘X Rocks.’ All of the ‘X Rock’ Girls are very talented and super sexy like their sister X Girls at ‘X Burlesque.’
“Moorea is multi-talented from Canada, and I love her purple hair! She will be doing an aerial piece, as well as the fire and grinder act. Emilie and Alexandria are over-the-top sexy. French femme fatales. Lucky for us they fell in love with Las Vegas and wanted to stay after ‘Crazy Horse Paris’ closed.
“Jessica, who is from Puerto Rico, is an absolutely amazing dancer and will become an instant headline darling here. Jennifer is from Oklahoma and is Korean.”
Jennifer is dating Chippendales hunk James Davis, who competed on “The Amazing Race” with fellow Chippendales star Jaymes Vaughan. “X Rocks” shows are at 10 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays, while Chippendales is nearby at Chippendales Theater seven days a week.

Carnival lasts all year at the Rio. With a float occasionally passing overhead and dropping beads while feathered dancers fire up the gamblers below, the Rio tries to keep its 120,000-square foot casino jumping with excitement. Special Brazilian mixed-drinks are also served throughout the casino. The hotel suites tend to be larger than similar priced rooms on the Strip and many offer excellent views with floor to ceiling windows.
The Rio offers some quality shows like "Penn & Teller" and "Chippendales." Many come to the Rio for the nightlife at the VooDoo Lounge, located on the 51st floor, or McFadden's Irish Pub on the casino level.
Others come for a bit relaxation at the Rio Spa or pool area and still others come to shop at the hotel's 60,000 square feet of shops. In each of these endeavors, the Rio attempts to make the experience a bit more fun and spontaneous.
The Rio also offers guests a variety of dining choices from all-American food at the All-American Bar & Grille to Gaylord India Restaurant for something a little spicier and even Carnival World Buffet for the indecisive.
