It’s not all about the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans this weekend. Admittedly, that’s where the action and excitement is headquartered, with Beyonce performing the Halftime Show, but Las Vegas also has sports stars to deliver a knockout punch.
Five headline comedians tackle one another, plus, boxing legend and Las Vegas resident Mike Tyson and wrestling star Ric Flair make appearances at Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops. And NFL legend Lawrence Taylor and two tough-girl lingerie football beauties are here to make sure we know it’s a super-sports weekend.
If music is your mission, country giants George Strait and Martina McBride are at MGM Grand Garden Arena, while Carlos Santana and Clint Holmes make merry with their sounds.
It’s the official opening weekend for two nightlife venues: the female-themed Heraea sports lounge and restaurant at the Palms and the female-themed SHe by Morton’s steakhouse and nightclub at Crystals in MGM’s CityCenter.
If you don’t want to watch the big game, there’s jazz at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts with a salute to Ella Fitzgerald and Count Basie. After the game, there’s the DJ residency debut of LMFAO’s Redfoo at XS in Steve Wynn’s Encore.

He promises after-hours parties will continue, but temporarily relocated to Bally’s until the newly transformed hotel reopens with his rooftop pool dayclub and nightclub.
