It’s a three-pack collision of celebrations for Chinese New Year, Presidents’ Day and the NBA All-Star Game, and Las Vegas isn’t fazed in the slightest by the triple threat. The Strip has entertainment and parties to meet the demands of all three.
Music ranges from hometown tattooed beauty Pink to Linkin Park to Chicago opening the new-look Tropicana Theater, and there is country legend Crystal Gayle and two Cantonese pop singers going head-to-head.
While NBA stars converge on Houston, our b-ball parties include L.A. Clippers star Chris Paul and the opening of Heraea at Palms. The comedy lineup is long, very long, and includes Ron White, David Spade and trash-talking and foul-mouthed Lisa Lampanelli.
The offbeat includes everything from a gun show to a fine art benefit to a chocolate festival; if you hear screams, that’s the fourth-annual, ice-cold pool plunge at South Point to raise funds for Special Olympics.
It is a wide-ranging weekend with something for everybody, so let’s yell with the heat from another edition of the Royal Robin Rundown!
