It was the holiday week stars took over the town. Everywhere you turned, they dazzled our restaurants, glamorized the party scene and added glitz to prove that we really are the Entertainment Capital of the World.
At Celine Dion’s final show of 2012, Mark Ballas of “Dancing With the Stars” visited backstage at The Colosseum in Caesars Palace to wish her Happy New Year before her Dec. 31 performance.
Members of Maroon 5 stopped at Hussong’s Cantina for margaritas and guacamole in The Shoppes at Mandalay Place after their Dec. 30 concert. Frontman Adam Levine treated the guys the night before, after their first show, to Charlie Palmer’s Aureole at Mandalay Bay.
Criss Angel of Cirque du Soleil’s “Believe” at the Luxor visited Coco Austin starring in “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood. The reunited Ice-T and Coco were all over the Strip: at Lavo in the Palazzo with friends for DJ Vice; in the Miracle Mile Shops/ Sugar Factory at Planet Hollywood picking up Mel B’s Couture Pops; and at nearby Victoria’s Secret, where she purchased $500 worth of lingerie. The couple celebrated their 12th anniversary and NYE at LAX in the Luxor.
Celebrity poker player and hottie Tiffany Michelle, who also was an “Amazing Race” Season 15 and Food Network’s “Worst Cooks in America” competitor, sizzled at Australia’s Thunder From Down Under at Excalibur. Dressed in black leather leggings, Tiffany was with six friends celebrating the 21st birthday of one in the group. Outside the adult male revue, Thunder performers Alex Biffan and Ryan Paki took a dip with Maverick, a bottlenose dolphin, at Siegfried & Roy’s Secret Garden & Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage.
While in town, Tiffany also joined poker pro Maria Ho at the just-opened Andrea’s in Steve Wynn’s Encore before strolling over to Surrender to join pageant queen Shanna Moakler. Also at Andrea’s and Surrender: poker pro Daniel Negreanu, Haylie Duff, Skrillex, Eric Prydz, Steve Angello (Andrea’s musical chef!) and Jenna Jameson and Tito Ortiz (the couple were en route to Beyonce’s private NYE concert at the Wynn).
UFC legend Chuck Liddell enjoyed fish and chips at executive chef Bryan Forgione’s Society Cafe in the Encore.
Carmen Electra and The Act at the Palazzo management team dined at nearby Wolfgang Puck’s CUT; Simon Cowell’s GF was so impressed that she raved about it during red carpet interviews outside the club.
Legendary comedian and impersonator Rich Little gave a check for $8,000 to the Salvation Army in honor of his late wife to benefit its programs Seeds of Hope and Homeless Services.
Flavor Flav watched R. Kelly’s concert at LVH.
Junior dos Santos vs. Cain Velasquez 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena drew Carrie Underwood and hubby Mike Fisher of the Nashville Predators; Mike Tyson, Anthony Kiedis of the Red Hot Chili Peppers; actresses Laura Prepon and Jaime Pressly, rapper MC Hammer and Boston Red Sox star Shane Victorino.
Henderson resident Mike attended Penn & Teller’s headliner show at The Rio.
Drummer Will Noon of Fun watched “Absinthe” at Caesars and posed for photos with The Gazillionaire, Penny Pibbets and Melody Sweets.
Actor Joe Pantoliano, who just filmed “The Identical” with Ashley Judd and Ray Liotta, purchased a Missoni scarf in The Bungalow at Tivoli Village.
Members of Chippendales at The Rio watched “Peepshow.”
Tommy DeVito, founding member, singer and lead guitarist of The Four Seasons, was spotted at Hooters Casino Hotel.
Singer Brandy dined with her fiance at Tao in The Venetian. Floyd Mayweather Jr. celebrated with friends, including Lil Kim.
Next door at sister club Lavo, DJ Chuckie treated partygoers to a set during the Hungover and Broke party. Comedian Pauly Shore was at Lavo before hitting Marquee in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, where Avicii wrapped the Halfway to EDC four days of parties.
Also at Marquee, DJ Tiesto joined headlining DJ Gareth Emery and then partied at Hyde Bellagio for the Lost Angels soiree with poker pro Antonio Esfandiari.
Olympic swimming champions Ryan Lochte and Ed Moses, who posed with the sassy Hooters girls while staying there, partied at Lavo Champagne Brunch. Also at Lavo, singer Robin Thicke and actress wife Paula Patton with Marlon Wayans and Bow Wow, who spent a lot of time in the DJ booth with Vice, plus, comedienne Heather McDonald.
UFC legend Randy Couture and NHRA driver Ron Capps attended Elvis Monroe’s show at Red Rock Resort and afterward joined the band’s Ben Carey and Bryan Hopkins for photos.
“DWTS” and “Sex and the City” stud Gilles Marini was at Exotics Racing driving the Lamborghini Aventador, then a ride-along in the Corvette Z06 with Romain Thievin, owner and pro racecar driver, behind the wheel. Boxer “Sugar” Shane Mosley” also was at Exotics and drove the Audi R8 while son Shane Mosely Jr. drove the Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
The University of Washington Huskies, in town for the MAACO Bowl, arrived in five buses for Eli Roth’s Goretorium. Most of the players and coaches made it to the end of the year-round horror attraction, but a few bowed out halfway.
And “Top Chef Seattle” cheftestant Carla Pellegrino (Meatball Spot) took a busman’s holiday to Buca di Beppo, where they sat her at the chef's table overlooking the kitchen. Chef Eduardo served Carla and her Bratalian chef sister Allesandra.
