With the giant CES opening today, it’s no surprise that the Strip is filled with celebrities and athletes partying up a storm when not perusing the newest electronic gadgets and technology.
Boxing legend Mike Tyson satisfied his sweet tooth at Sugar Factory in Planet Hollywood’s Miracle Mile Shops choosing Swedish Fish, sour apple gummies, two scoops of raspberry gelato and a Couture Pop for his daughter. Fans went wild wanting his autograph. One fan wanted a photo with the athlete so badly that he ran to a nearby store and purchased a $1,500 camera! After getting his photo of a lifetime, the fan kept the memory stick and gave the camera to Mike.
NBA Hall of Famer Dennis Rodman spent hours hanging out at Casa Fuente in The Forum Shops of Caesars Palace smoking an Ashton Classic Churchill cigar and drinking Grey Goose and soda. Instead of grabbing his own table, Dennis mingled and sat with fellow stogie fans.
Boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard on his first visit to Gordon Ramsay Steak in the Paris chose Mediterranean sea bass(!), but his guest had the 28-day, dry-aged prime rib in their booth overlooking the kitchen.
Singer Nicki Minaj dined at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill in Caesars ordering several of the pub’s 60 paired beers to go with chips, sauteed Scottish salmon and brick-pressed Cornish chicken.
Rapper Lil Jon topped off five days of partying during the New Year at Hyde Bellagio, which also attracted Ryan Lochte, Common, Jeremy Piven, Havana Brown and sisters Hilary and Haylie Duff. Lil Jon delighted diners at the new Andrea’s in Steve Wynn’s Encore with a surprise DJ set after dinner with six friends. But the reality TV star and producer wasn’t finished yet. He went on to play another high-energy DJ set at next door Surrender.
Jai Rodriguez of ABC’s “Malibu Country” was at Revolution in The Mirage with local TV journalist Chris Saldana and “Rock of Ages” star Justin Mortellitti.
“Big Brother” runner-up, coach and author Dan Gheesling dined at chef Steve Martorano’s Cafe Martorano in The Rio before watching Penn & Teller’s headliner show.
Monte Carlo headliners Blue Man Group were watched by celebrities in the audience: Corey Taylor of Slipknot; retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner, his wife and seven children; and J.B. Smoove of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
Holly Madison made her weekly stop at chef Carla Pellegrino’s Meatball Spot in Town Square to satisfy her pregnancy cravings with beef meatballs and pepperoni pizza. She topped it off with an ice cream sandwich and a peanut butter milkshake. Also there: DJ Pauly D’s reality TV sidekick Ryan Labbe and Hot Chelle Rae guitarist Nash Overstreet celebrating his 26th birthday with The Cab frontman Alexander DeLeon.
Actress Hana Mae Lee (“Pitch Perfect”) dined at Tao in The Venetian. Next door in the Palazzo, Rev Run, his wife and three kids devoured crispy calamari and Kobe meatballs at Lavo, where Internet personality iJustine got ready for CES enjoying pizza and sea bass. Eden Sher from ABC’s “The Middle” celebrated her 21st birthday with10 friends at Lavo, while at sister hotspot Marquee in The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Kid Cudi, Scott Wolf, Bobby Massie, offensive tackle for the Arizona Cardinals and a group of linemen partied.
Bubbly blonde rapper Chanel West Coast dined at Society Cafe in the Encore enjoying an espresso martini, tomato bisque and Grandma Rose’s meatballs.
Several of the “Biggest Loser” contestants are at CES talking about modern weight-loss/fitness technology with Jawbone UP, Nike Fuelband and BodyMedia Fit that has helped them on their slim-down, trim-down journey.
“Dancing With the Stars” pro dancer champion Cheryl Burke has palled up with “Good Morning America’s” Sam Champion while here as judges for the 2013 Miss America Pageant on Saturday, and they dined together at chef Scott Conant’s D.O.C.G. Enoteca at The Cosmopolitan for spaghetti before going to Marquee to dance off the calories.
Among the notable names at the “Rock of Ages” grand opening Saturday night at The Venetian: Jai, Carla, Claire Sinclair, Angel Porrino, Jaymes Vaughan, James Davis, Arianne Zucker and Kate Mansi.
