Excalibur headliners Thunder From Down Under are guest studs on Lifetime's "Project Runway" on Thursday, March 14, 2013. They are pictured here with host, judge and supermodel Heidi Klum.

Editor’s Note: While Robin Leach heads to the East Coast and London before his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy — plus, the Amalfi Coast this year — many of our Strip personalities have stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. We continue with those handsome Aussie mates known as Thunder From Down Under, who headline at Excalibur and celebrate their 11th anniversary in Las Vegas today.

Apparently it’s true that you can’t get enough of a good thing, as evidenced by the overwhelming demand from fans who asked that we increase the number of performances each week.

Ask, and you shall receive! Thunder From Down Under at Excalibur now has 12 shows: a 9 p.m. show Mondays through Wednesdays, 9 and 11 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays and a 7 p.m. show Fridays.

“The popularity of Thunder is phenomenal. We are an international brand and pride ourselves as representing quality in the entertainment industry and specifically in the adult male revue category, whether it is our sitting show in Las Vegas or our touring company, which is selling out around the country,” says Adam Steck, CEO of SPI Entertainment and Thunder producer.

Buff Blokes in Hot Routines

Thunder is much more than handsome guys with six-pack abs. We are talented hunks who can dance, do gymnastics and show a gal a good time. New routines constantly keep the show fresh and the energy high. Whether it is a SWAT officer, a pirate, a gangster, a cowboy or a firefighter, the ladies can expect a hot experience.

The show is perfect for bachelorette parties, and we happily have provided memorable moments for thousands of brides-to-be and their wedding parties. Add birthdays, divorce parties and other celebrations to the mix, and you have happy ladies feeling empowered to have a good time.

National TV Shows

Thunder performers had a great time appearing on an episode of “Project Runway” with the gorgeous Heidi Klum hosting. She loved having us as the challenge for the designers who were competing and has tabbed it as one of the most fun episodes she has done.

It was such a tough challenge creating costumes for us that, in a rarity on the long-running reality TV competition now on Lifetime, none of the designers won that episode. We are thrilled to be making our third guest appearance on Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva.” The episode is scheduled to air this summer.

Thunder is making the news, and what better place than NBC’s morning talk show “Today.” Hosts Hoda Kotb and Kathie Lee Gifford had a very special Fourth of July on Thursday when our guys dropped by to show how Aussie mates could join in the fun. And, coincidentally, Yahoo! featured us on its homepage today.

New 2014 Calendars

Other great news for our fans is that our steamy 2014 calendar will be available in August. You can get them at our merchandise shop adjacent to Thunder Showroom or online at ThunderFromDownUnder.com.

Touring Company

East Coast and Midwest fans will have an extra opportunity to enjoy Thunder, as our touring company will be traveling to cities there while using a residency at Mt. Airy Casino in the Poconos as the hub this month and in August.

So even if you can’t get to Las Vegas to see our show, you can catch us on the road and enjoy your favorite hotties.

Yes, We Are Aussie!

We always are asked if the men are really Australian or if it is a gimmick. Answer: Yes, we are really from Down Under, and the accents are real. And, yes, we really do love the ladies.

Happy vacation, Robin! Thanks for having us here.

On Sunday, we’ll feature celebrity photographer Denise Truscello, who contributes so many phenomenal photographs to these pages, along with N9NE Steakhouse at the Palms star chef Barry S. Dakake. Next week, guest columnists include Terry Fator, George Wallace, Antonio Esfandiari, Louis Prima Jr. and cast members of “Rock of Ages.”
