Food, glorious food! The emphasis this weekend is on fabulous food and wonderful wines because there’s a smaller crop of music and comedy attractions.
Bam! Superstar TV chef Emeril Lagasse will really kick it up a notch partnering with Sammy Hagar for a Tiki Party and BBQ Grill at The Venetian pool to continue Carnevale.
I don’t know that Italians forgo pizzas and pastas for burgers or hot dogs, but I do know they love their outdoor living, summer feasting and concerts under the stars, so Emeril and Sammy get us as close as can be to la dolce vita.
It’s the third Project Dinner Table event of the 2013 season, and on Saturday more than 150 lovers of family-style dining will sit at one very long white-tableclothed setting on the fairway of TPC Summerlin’s championship golf course. Talented chefs Todd Harrington (Central), Sean Kinoshita (Tao), Massimiliano Campanari (Lavo) and Marc Marrone (Tao Group) will serve hole-in-one cuisine.
One of First Friday’s features Downtown is on-street dining and entertainment. Restaurants open up with their outdoor patios, too. If you’ve never wandered this fun festival, now is the time to explore and savor the eclectic foods. Comedy is king this weekend with Bill Maher, Andrew Dice Clay, Tim Allen, Rodney Carrington, Ronn Lucas and more.
With temperatures already set to shatter the 110 mark, cooling off at the pool becomes mandatory, and we have Ludacris at the Palms, Paris Hilton and Cheryl Burke at Daylight Beach Club, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals at Mandalay Bay Beach, plus, the 2013 Miss USA Pageant contestants are at Pure in Caesars Palace.
So now it’s time to primp, pose and party as we open up this swag bag affectionately known as the Royal Robin Rundown:
