As country king Garth Brooks and hotel tycoon Steve Wynn promised, the two giants will reunite this Memorial Day Weekend and again the Fourth of July Weekend for six Las Vegas concerts.
Garth began his three-year residency at Encore Theater in the Wynn in December 2009 and played the final show there last November. Now they’ll celebrate the three-year success story and capture six shows for a TV special and future DVD.
In this morning’s announcement, there’s no word — as they originally revealed — that Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese would helm the filming. Steve simply said: “Any day that Garth is in the Wynn is a good day for the hotel and a great night for the audience.”
On Memorial Day Weekend, there will be two shows on Friday, May 24, and two shows Saturday, May 25, at 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Tickets will go on sale this Monday at 10 a.m. PST for $125, plus, a $7.50 service charge and a $13.25 tax, for a total of $145.75. Tickets will be available at WynnLasVegas.com, (702) 770-1000, Ticketmaster.com and (800) 745-3000.
On the Fourth of July weekend, there will be one show Friday, July 5, and one show Saturday, July 6, at 8 p.m. Tickets for those dates go on sale June 3.
