It’s one of the fiercest and most competitive entertainment weekends Las Vegas has ever seen, even with Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and their country compatriots on television. Madonna, Prince and Justin Bieber are very much live and in person for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards, and Kid Rock is Tigers Woods’ returning guest for his 15th annual Tiger Jam.
It also is a star-studded “The Great Gatsby”-themed weekend for reality TV star Lisa Vanderpump, legendary illusionists Siegfried & Roy, former Mrs. Howard Hughes actress Terry Moore and singers Frankie Moreno and Wayne Newton.
They’re all joining forces for the two-day Lights of Compassion fundraiser for The American Humane Association. Lisa, star of “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” and “Lisa Rules,” her dog Giggy, Frankie and singer-songwriter Carol Connors are at a fashion show today at Bellagio. The starry party moves to Anthem Country Club on Saturday.
Today, the Jabbawockeez unveil their new, custom-built theater at the Luxor, where they will begin performing their all-new show “Prism” on Saturday. Expect the family-friendly production to have awe-inspiring choreography, vivid costumes, chart-topping hits and storylines that will have audiences dancing in their seats. It’s encouraged!
Today is Endangered Species Day, and Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay welcomes two male juvenile Komodo dragons from Prague, Czech Republic, where they were captive hatched. Only 5,000 remain today in Indonesia. The newbies join one other adult male Komodo that arrived in 2008. Good thing these creatures arrived after “Model Employee” wrapped filming for VH1.
I want to specifically point out the Saturday opening of Rock Paper Photo Gallery at The Hard Rock Hotel because photographer Denise Truscello, who often graces our stories, has an exhibition of her great celebrity photos, along with Hollywood photographer Kevin Mazur.
Now it’s time to put our Royal Robin Rundown into focus and aim the lens on the stars who’ll work and play on and off the Strip for the next 72 hours:
