It’s a mega-weekend that defies description, but I’ll try: Insane, out of control, over the top, outrageous, a never-ending 96-hour whirl. Only The Entertainment Capital of the World could produce this extraordinary four-day blast.
There are so many choices of events, parties, shows, concerts and superstar DJs, my head is spinning just from compiling it. The lineup is so big, we divided it into two sections, the first our weekly Weekend Celebrity Preview and the second for partygoers who want midnight-to-7 a.m. nightclub fun.
If you want a family weekend, it’s the grand opening of Wet ’n’ Wild Las Vegas with more than 25 slides and attractions. However, it’s only for VIP pass holders this 2013 Memorial Day Weekend; one-day passes will be offered beginning June 3. Check out Tom Donoghue’s fabulous photo gallery from air and … water park.
Former Mayor Oscar Goodman has three days of Downtown events celebrating his new memoir “Being Oscar.” A highlight: Wear Oscar masks and pinstripe T-shirts for a photo with his showgirls and him at The Mob Museum on Saturday.
Country music fans will be thrilled that Garth Brooks is back onstage at Encore Theater in Wynn for two nights to film his concert for a DVD package. Garth also will be here Fourth of July weekend to finish the recording.
Three of our favorite “Pawn Stars” — Austin “Chumlee” Russell, Rick “The Spotter” Harrison and Richard “The Old Man” Harrison — kick off their $100,000 Golden Nugget Slots Championship in Downtown, while the Strip welcomes rock stars from today and yesteryear, along with a contingent of comedians for laughter this holidaze.
Amid the parties and celebrations, “Pin Up” starlet and 2012 Playmate of the Year Claire Sinclair celebrates her 22nd birthday all weekend. And Charlie Sheen is at Sapphire Pool and Dayclub. Think of it as a magnum-sized, 44DDD event as some 500 goddesses willingly doff their tops in a parade of pulchritude he’ll appreciate more than anyone.
Now it’s time now for us to blow out the candles, make a splash and slide into a long Royal Robin Rundown:
