Ice skating returns to the Strip this month, as the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and the Venetian prepare to open their respective rinks in the coming weeks to celebrate the season.
The Cosmopolitan will once again transform Boulevard Pool into an ice rink, featuring an expanded skating area and seasonal food and cocktails, from Friday, Nov. 22, through Sunday, Jan. 5. As part of its annual Winter in Venice celebration, the Venetian will offer hourly ice-skating sessions from Nov. 18 through Jan. 5 at its synthetic ice rink on the canal adjacent to the outdoor gondola rides.
Daylong skating access at the Cosmopolitan is $10 for Nevada residents and $15 for nonresidents; skate rental is $5. The ice rink operates Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to midnight and Saturday through Sunday from noon to midnight and is open to guests ages 2 and older. Children ages 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult older than 21.
The rink at the Cosmopolitan also will include weekly programming like “Date Skate” Mondays, featuring holiday movie screenings, “Industry Skate” on Wednesdays for locals and “Throwback Thursdays” offering music from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s. The Cosmopolitan also will host a New Year’s Eve celebration at the ice rink from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., including an open bar and live feed of Bruno Mars’ performance from inside the Chelsea.
Skating at the Venetian is $9.95 per hourly session, including skate rentals, for locals and Grazie members and $14.95 for nonresidents. The rink operates from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily.
