Fashion never looked smarter and sexier, and giving never looked so good. On Thursday, George Kotsiopoulos of E! Entertainment’s “Fashion Police” hosts the collision of fashion and philanthropy at Crystals in CityCenter.
More than a dozen designer boutiques will partner with a local charity, and George will host a fashion show featuring Spring 2014’s hottest looks from Crystals’ repertoire of retailers.
The celebrity fashion editor told Vegas DeLuxe why he wanted to be an important part of Fashion Gives Back: “It’s a great night to start your holiday shopping and help support many wonderful charities who do so much for the people of Las Vegas.
“I’m a huge fan of Crystals, as it’s the only shopping district in the U.S. to house exclusively high-end luxury brands. Not just luxury, but high-end! I remember when my parents used to visit Vegas in the ’70s and ’80s, and it always had an air of glamor about it.
“The luxury market embracing Las Vegas is keeping glamour alive. I’d personally wear Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Valentino, Fendi and Ermenegildo Zegna, but, as a fashion editor, I love it all — Hermes, Bottega, Yves St. Laurent, Roberto Cavalli, Paul Smith, Dior, Marni, Lanvin, Tom Ford, Brunello and so many more. Every store at Crystals is super fabulous.”
Is Las Vegas becoming a fashion travel destination? He said: “For me, shopping in Vegas is like looking at collections straight off the runway. Many major cities will have a pared-down offering of a brand’s looks, but not in Vegas. I have many friends who tell me they find things in Vegas that aren’t even available in New York or Los Angeles.
“Our Fashion Gives Back will show a mix of Fall 2013 and Spring 2014, but they will all echo some of the broader trends for Spring, including bold color, liquid metallics, fantastical florals and white-hot looks.”
Be sure to check out the interactive windows and in-store models at the sexy-lingerie boutique Kiki de Montparnasse. Then immediately cool down at San Pellegrino Hydration Lounge before meeting up with “Jersey Boys” star Jeff Leibow at Porsche Design.
Champagne will be served at Christian Dior and Bottega Veneta, while it’s vodka and former Mayor Oscar Goodman’s favorite gin at the Grey Goose Game Lounge for men. Play pool, foosball and pinball while your lady love waltzes off with your credit card!
