It’s a star-studded pre-Thanksgiving weekend with Drake and Michael Buble at MGM Grand Garden Arena, Ringo Starr at Pearl at the Palms and dueling comedians Tim Allen at the Venetian and Ray Romano at the Mirage.
The holiday season is in full swing with Winter in Venice and the premiere of Celtic Woman at the Venetian, plus, the ice-skating rink is open for holiday fun at Boulevard Pool in the Cosmopolitan.
You can even go to the Venetian and Lagasse’s Stadium in Palazzo to watch the Manny Pacquiao-Brandon Rios fight from Macau. Our Editor at Large John Katsilometes and his Kats Report are on location at the Sands properties on the Cotai Strip — it’s the biggest boxing fight in China’s history.
Please go to Opportunity Village on Saturday for the 22nd-anniversary celebration tree-lighting ceremony (postponed from tonight due to the rainy weather). Mayor Carolyn Goodman next Friday (also postponed from tonight) will flip the switch on nearly 3 million lights and festive decorations at the Magical Forest and “Fantasy” temptress Jaime Lynch will sing along with Santa and his reindeer.
Incidentally, O.V. chief Linda Smith is in Liverpool, England, this weekend for that city’s Santa Run and is reading a challenge letter from me to them in the hope we field 13,000 runners to hold onto our Santa Run world title downtown on Dec. 7.
