Runner, Runner Trailer
Runner, Runner at Planet Hollywood
It was a night of Hollywood glamour with movie superstars at Planet Hollywood for the world premiere of Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck’s new thriller, “Runner, Runner,” which opens nationwide Oct. 4.
High-rollers and slot players temporarily stopped betting and joined fans and employees, standing five deep on two sides of a roped-off red carpet that snaked through Planet Hollywood, who erupted in cheers Wednesday night for the celebrities and VIPs, including Justin’s wife, actress Jessica Biel.
The handsome couple in tuxedo jackets and white shirts sans bowties set off a flashbulb frenzy throughout the Strip hotel, at which, execs had revealed only 24 hours earlier, his former love Britney Spears will begin a new residency starting Dec. 27.
Coincidentally, Britney and Justin will be presenting and performing, respectively, at this weekend’s 2013 iHeartRadio Music Festival at MGM Grand Garden Arena.
Other stars at the premiere of the online, offshore poker thriller included co-stars Ben Affleck, James Bond beauty Gemma Atherton, “Grey’s Anatomy” favorite Anthony Mackie and British actor Sam Palladio from ABC’s “Nashville.” Also adding celebrity glitz were Holly Madison, Carrot Top, Boyz II Men and rock giant Meat Loaf, who opens his "Rocktellz & Cocktails" mini-residency at Planet Hollywood next Thursday.
Thanks to videographer Richard Corey for his YouTube video of all the red carpet and onstage celebrities. Thanks also to Denise Truscello of WireImage, Scott Harrison of Retna, contributing photographer Tom Donoghue and Steve Marcus of Las Vegas Sun for their photo galleries.
With Britney, Justin, Ben and the upcoming movie premieres of James Franco’s “Homefront” and Sylvester Stallone’s “The Expendables 3,” Planet Hollywood has become the new favorite celebrity playground on the Strip.
POST-MOVIE MEAL: Justin and Jessica enjoyed a four-course dinner with more than 20 family members and friends at Old Homestead Steakhouse at Caesars Palace after the “Runner, Runner” premiere last night. The group celebrated in Old Homestead’s private dining room.
HOLLY’S HONEYMOON: On the movie’s red carpet, newlywed Holly told me that her honeymoon with Pasquale Rotella will probably have to wait until spring.
“We’re both too busy, but we are seriously thinking of Hong Kong as the destination because it would be the only Disneyland location I haven’t visited,” she said, showing me her wedding bands.
“It feels amazing and awesome to be married. The baby is perfect. There’s going to be more — we want a big family. It’s all exactly what I wanted. I finally have balance in my life and am enjoying everything.”
She also revealed that discussions for her new live show in Las Vegas are moving forward. “There’s no definite update yet. Nothing official, but all I can tease is that there will be a lot of striptease involved. We’re hoping you’ll see it as early as January or February,” she said.
“Runner, Runner” is all about online poker. Does Holly ever dabble? “I’m more of a blackjack girl,” she laughed. “And sometimes I win.”
MEAT LOAF MAGIC: Rock star Meat Loaf told me he’s a keen player, having taken part in many celebrity poker events sponsored by actor James Woods. “I’m really good at poker” he said.” But I’m not tempted to play while I’m here working.”
“To be honest, I’m too busy with the show. Also, after a while sitting playing, it starts to bore me. I’ve even managed to take out some of the poker pros we’ve played against. I haven’t lost in a casino.
“One night in London, I walked in with $60 and walked out with $30,000 from blackjack. Once I was here in Vegas and went to see Danny Gans at the Wynn, got there a half hour early and played Caribbean poker and in 20 minutes won $1,500!”
I’m having lunch with Meat Loaf on Friday during a rehearsal break from "Rocktellz," and we’ll post that Q+A next week. “It’s all going great,” he told me. “But I haven’t stopped for a second since I got off the plane here from concerts in London.
“We are so excited about this new form of rock show at Planet Hollywood, and you’re going to hear all the hits and some amazing stories connected to them.”

There's also the Miracle Mile Shops, one Vegas' largest malls, with 140 stores including BCBG Max Azaria, bebe, Urban Outfitters and The Discovery Channel Store.
Following an afternoon of shopping, guests can satisfy their appetites at one of the gourmet restaurants in Planet Hollywood, like the non-traditional approach to steakhouses at Strip House or check out the exotic Far East motif at KOI restaurant and lounge. And if guests are still looking for more, they can spend the after hours at Privé, Triq or Krave nightclubs.
Perhaps one of the resorts biggest attractions came in March with the addition of "Peepshow." The naughty twist on the story of Little Bo Peep is modern-day spin on the run-of-the-mill Vegas topless review. The "Peepshow" stage has seen visiting celebs like Scary Spice Mel B, "Dancing with the Stars" Kelly Monaco and Playboy's Holly Madison.
