Robin Leach has finished his annual summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy, and many of our Strip personalities again stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. As Robin enjoys the final birthday week of his working vacation with his family, we continue today with our popular guest columns. Here is Farid Matraki, senior vice president and general manager of The Shops at Crystals in CityCenter, one of the world’s only fashion destinations dedicated solely to luxury brands.

The Shops at Crystals in CityCenter continues to be the epicenter for luxury shopping in Las Vegas. We regularly seek to bring the best designers to the city, and this year was no exception. Celine is the most recent addition to our roster. Phoebe Philo’s modern aesthetic and color-blocked collections have been highly coveted since the boutique opened its doors.

We also have been able to diversify our offerings by adding two specialty boutiques: Sisley and Lalique. Sisley’s store is its first-ever freestanding boutique and features some of the finest skincare and cosmetic options in the world today. Lalique features fine crystal jewelry and works of art. Visitors can find exquisite gifts and home furnishings at this beautiful location for the French brand.

While we celebrate our newest boutiques, we also are excited to see what our existing brands will be showcasing for the upcoming season. It might be difficult to think about boots and sweaters while it is still 105 degrees outside, but fashion is always moving forward. Fall collections have already arrived and are featuring new and exciting trends.

Rocker chic

You don't have to be a headliner at Life Is Beautiful to dress like a rock star. Saint Laurent Creative Director Hedi Slimane has always designed with an edge, and this year is no different.

His punk-inspired shoe collection features leather booties and sneakers with studs and rhinestones. Complete your look with The Regina handbag line from Roberto Cavalli, which is adorned with fringe, gold studs and printed leather.

Twists on classics

This year, we also will see brands offering unique twists on their classic pieces. Using different patterns and out-of-the-box concepts, these standard wardrobe essentials are not so ordinary anymore.

Paul Smith’s new shirts and suit jacket from the PS Paul Smith line are designed with beautiful patterns, including colorful floral, camo and constellation prints. Shirt: $254. Jacket: $1,020.

Bvlgari’s fall collection offers the stunning Tubogas bracelet featuring its iconic Serpenti design mixing gold and silver steel. This pairs perfectly with the brand’s flap-cover bag made with scarlet red calf leather and detailed with a brass-plated snakehead closure with green malachite eyes. Bracelet: $6,350. Bag: $2,100.

Wool coats are not top of mind in summer, but fans of Brunello Cucinelli will want to head to Crystals for this very item despite the heat. The Shops at Crystals will be the only location on the West Coast to find the striking Men’s Boiled Wool Jacket. $3,320.

The complete collection

Whether it is a watch, handbag or a great piece of luggage, a great accessory must complement every outfit.

Any Celine bag is a hot item to have, but the tie handbag featuring a combination of black-and-navy blue felt is a fall staple. $2,600.

A home requires stylish accessories — Lalique uses gold enamel in its luxurious bee decanter ideal for serving the finest spirits to guests. $2,950.

Find dazzling two-toned Prada eyeglasses at Ilori. The black-and-white glasses designed with Havana acetate and crystal embellishment demand attention with its classic and chic look. $300.

If you aren’t coveting the newest Tom Ford sunglasses, don't worry. Crystals also features amazing cuisine like Mastro’s Ocean Club, Todd English P.U.B and Wolfgang Puck Pizzeria & Cucina.

Grab a Starbucks and take in our unique architecture or head over to Gallery Row and explore the sculptures of Richard McDonald to the wilderness photography of Rodney Lough.
