Brunette bombshell Chrissy Teigen, who often calls Las Vegas home, is rumored by insiders to be the prestigious cover girl of Sports Illustrated’s 50th anniversary Swimsuit Issue.
The golden birthday front cover will be revealed Thursday on Jimmy Kimmel’s new late-night ABC talk show, and then the cover model will be there Monday for an interview.
In previous years, the cover has been revealed on David Letterman’s CBS late-night talk show. The Sports Illustrated supermodels have called Las Vegas home the past three years for the magazine launch parties but this year have moved to Miami Beach, Fla. The swimsuit issue is seen by 70 million people each year.
Chrissy, who wed R&B singer John Legend last September in Italy after dating for four years, would follow in the footsteps of bikini beauty Kate Upton, who graced the cover the past two years — an unprecedented feat.
Chrissy’s layout was shot in the Cook Islands of the South Pacific near New Zealand. “I’ve been to a lot of beaches, but this was unreal,” she said.
The 28-year-old 5-foot-9 stunner, whose measurements are 34C-25-35, was born in Utah, moved with her family to Las Vegas and made her debut in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2010 after appearing on “Deal or No Deal” for the 2006-2007 TV season.
Her mother is Thai, and her father is Norwegian. Chrissy was the host of the reality-TV competition series “Model Employee’ filmed for VH1 at Mandalay Bay that we covered here at Vegas DeLuxe.
John and Chrissy, who live in New York and Los Angeles, are regulars here in with his nightclub and concert appearances. They appear together in his music video for “All of Me” and hosted New Year’s Eve at Haze in Aria.
On Monday, Chrissy made headlines posting an Instagram video showing her giving him a topless hug. While on the Strip for Swimsuit Issue promotions last year, she had her handprints cemented in the walk of fame at Planet Hollywood.
At an Encore Beach Club Sports Illustrated “Summer of Swim” party at Surrender in Steve Wynn’s Encore, she told me: “Both John and I love Las Vegas. We get to spend time with family and enjoy the city. We both love Las Vegas.”
Chrissy also said of “Model Employee”: “I loved hosting the reality TV show. It was six solid weeks of nonstop work,” she told me. “I’d be getting up and going to makeup just as the late-night revelers were passing me on their way to bed. You see some very strange things at that time of the morning!”
