Miss New York Nina Davuluri is crowned 2014 Miss America by 2013 Miss America Mallory Hagan, also of New York, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013, in Atlantic City.

2014 Miss America Nina Davuluri of New York launched DO AC’s 2014 social-media campaign with an appearance and a live Twitter chat Saturday from NMX: New Media Expo at the Rio.

Davuluri made history at the pageant in Atlantic City, N.J., in September as the first winner of Indian descent. (DO AC stands for “Things to Do in Atlantic City,” the tourism campaign for Atlantic City.) The first runner-up, Miss California Crystal Lee, also is Asian American.

Davuluri succeeded another Miss New York, Mallory Hagan, who was crowned at Planet Hollywood. Thanks to Erik Kabik of Retna for his photo gallery of Davuluri in Las Vegas.
