Editor’s Note: While Robin Leach heads to the East Coast and Milan before his traditional summer vacation under the Tuscan sun in Italy — plus Lago Maggiore and Switzerland this year — many of our Strip personalities once again have stepped forward in his absence to pen their own words of wisdom. We start today with Flamingo headliner Donny Osmond, who has amassed 50 incredible years in show business.

Celebrating 50 years in show business is a milestone few in this industry experience. I’m grateful to those who have afforded me this opportunity — especially the Las Vegas community, who have embraced our show at Flamingo Las Vegas.

This year marked our third consecutive year ranked as “The Best of Las Vegas.” Yeah, baby!

So, first and foremost, thank you, Las Vegas, and thank you, Robin, for allowing me to guest write on your well-read blog. I hope that you’re enjoying your vacation!

As part of celebrating 50 years, I expect to be releasing my 60th album, “The Soundtrack of My Life,” this fall. This album is very special to me. As the title depicts, it is a compilation of songs that reminds me of very significant times in my life — my career and personal life.

Because of this, I’ve created an app (available on iTunes and Google Play) where users can get a sneak peek of the audio, along with short stories I’ve written about each song’s significance.

I’ve been updating the app every week for the past few weeks, so if you haven’t downloaded it yet, go check it out. And yes, the app is free to download.

I love how technology has enabled us to share information so quickly. That’s one of the reasons why I’m on Facebook and Twitter so often. It’s amazing how far we’ve come in 50 years!

Speaking of traveling far distances, I met a couple who recently traveled to Las Vegas all the way from Australia. While here, they came to our show at the Flamingo and asked me, “Is there anything in entertainment that you haven’t already done?”

I’ve gotten that question many times before. And while I’m sure there is, it makes me think of all the different facets of entertainment I’ve enjoyed — live theater, concert touring, studio recording, animated films, feature films, television host, radio host, auto racing and even boxing!

So, is there anything I haven’t already done?

After all these years of entertaining, I finally get to collaborate with my wife on a project that is uniquely our own —a home furnishings line. I admire Debbie. She is the backbone of our family. And, between the two of us, we always strive to make home and family the most important priority in our lives.

Donny Osmond Home was designed with this purpose in mind. Debbie and I want to share decor that makes every house a home, a place where each family member feels accepted, appreciated and connected to the ones they love.

After 50 years, I’ve learned that life really is all about family and relationships. I’m grateful for my family and the friendships I’ve made through the years.
