Reality-TV heartthrob Brody Jenner (“The Hills,” “Bromance,” “Keeping Up With the Kardashians”) made his debut as DJ on Friday night at Hyde Bellagio. Jenner, a sharp-dressed man in a blue suit, black T-shirt, trucker hat and sneakers, has a nightclub residency in Atlantic City and has spun in Los Angeles and Cabo San Lucas.
Jenner arrived at the Strip hotspot after midnight with his model girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter. Before his arrival, Jenner tweeted, “Tonight I’ll be checking out the new @DoubleBarrelLV for dinner, then I’ll be in the DJ booth at @HydeBellgio.” After dining at the new Double Barrel Roadhouse in Monte Carlo, Jenner’s group headed to Hyde Bellagio, where he was met on the red carpet by screaming fans and stopped for interviews and photographs.
Once inside Hyde Bellagio, the entourage that included Jenner’s DJ pal William Lifestyle, made their way to a VIP booth overlooking the dance floor as Hyde’s performance artists welcomed them with flashing lights and big letters spelling “B-R-O-D-Y.” The nighttime revelers erupted into a roar when the MC shouted, “Make some noise for Brody Jenner!”
DJ Direct got the party started at the club behind the Bellagio Fountains. After a quick stop at his table for photos and a drink with friends, Jenner made his way to the DJ booth. He opened his DJ set with a mix of “Turn Down for What” by DJ Snake and Lil Jon as confetti rained over the dance floor.
He continued to drop hip-hop beats by artists including Drake, Iggy Azalea, Lorde, Sage the Gemini and more, even mixing in “Ni**as in Paris” by new brother-in-law Kanye West and Jay Z. Carter danced alongside Jenner in the DJ booth and took a few spins on the turntable.
Later in the evening, Jenner thanked the crowd and Hyde Bellagio for hosting him before mixing up throwbacks including “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana and “Livin’ on a Prayer” by Bon Jovi. Jenner announced soon after, “We’re gonna switch it up right now,” launching the hit “Summer” by Calvin Harris, the first EDM track of his set.
In a swirl of confetti, cocktails and clubgoers, the party continued into the early hours of the morning as Jenner, minus his reality-TV siblings, and William Lifestyle kept the beats going. Thanks to Denise Truscello of WireImage for her photo gallery of the budding DJ at Hyde Bellagio.
