Dust off your Santa suit and grab your air guitar: The weekend ahead is packed with entertainment options sure to please just about anyone, whether you’re a bar crawl enthusiast, a classic rock fan or just looking for a few laughs.
Here’s a look at our weekend best bets:
Friday: Summer Santa Rampage at Fremont Street Experience
Triple-digit temperatures be damned — grab your Santa suit and get in the spirit of Christmas in July with the Summer Santa Rampage, a downtown bar crawl featuring drink specials along Fremont Street and hundreds of participants sporting the garb of St. Nick. Meet up with the “Red Tide” flash mob on Fremont Street Experience beginning at 9 p.m. Drink prices vary.
Friday: Styx, Foreigner and Don Felder at Orleans Arena
The Orleans hosts a night of classic rock with the “Soundtrack of Summer” tour featuring Styx, Foreigner and former Eagles guitarist Don Felder. The night will be one to remember as the show will be the only leg of the tour to be recorded for use in a national TV broadcast to air this year as well as a DVD release. Tickets are $55 to $70, and the show starts at 7 p.m.
Tonight-Sunday: “Really Rosie” at Las Vegas Little Theater
Don’t miss the final weekend of the whimsical musical based on the classic book by Maurice Sendak. Featuring music by Carole King, “Really Rosie” tells the story of the sassiest kid on Brooklyn's Avenue P who entertains herself and her friends by acting out showbiz fantasies. Shows run tonight through Saturday at 7 and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $25.
Friday: "The Voice" Tour at the Joint
Fans of NBC’s hit reality singing competition can get up close and personal with their favorite contestants as the show brings its massive summer tour to the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. The event will feature this season’s finalists as well as top acts from seasons past, including Season 5 champion Tessanne Chin, runner-up Jacquie Lee and Season 1 favorite Dia Frampton. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $65 to $95.
Friday-Saturday: Nick Swardson at the Mirage
Comedian, actor, writer and producer Nick Swardson returns to Terry Fator Theater at the Mirage for two nights of sharp standup as part of the resort’s Aces of Comedy series. Known for co-creating and starring in the sketch series “Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time,” Swardson also has co-written and produced movies including “Grandma’s Boy,” “Malibu’s Most Wanted” and “Benchwarmers.” Shows start at 10 p.m. Tickets are $40.
The Pearl is the Palms premier concert venue, hosting some of the most legendary and popular names in entertainment.
