It’s a condensed version of our daily Strip Scribbles as I board yet another big jet plane, this time a quick trip for my twin grandson and granddaughter Jack and Meg’s high school graduation in California.
Off I go … and off we go!
A delicious Wicked Whisper & Racy Rumor to add a little matrimonial merriment to this hump day.
Congratulations seem to be in order for edgy comedy magician The Amazing Johnathan, who is planning a Saturday wedding here to performance artist Anastasia. They have been dating for several years.
I’m told that smashing comic Gallagher will join them in holy matrimony, and there’s a report that Anastasia will stick needles into her body with a gold ring attached to one to commemorate the ceremony.
Insiders tell me to expect one of the wackiest weddings of all time.
CELINE & NE-YO DEBUT: It’s a unique video, and ABC’s “Good Morning America” premiered the hometown hero Ne-Yo and Caesars Palace headliner Celine Dion duet this morning.
Here’s a link to watch Celine at the piano and singing along with her fellow Las Vegas favorite.
FOOD TV: Last winter’s World Food Championships downtown will be seen on a July 10 TV special as part of the debut of the new FYI network, which used to be A&E’s Bio cable channel.
You’ll catch me along with “Pin Up” at the Stratosphere headliner Claire Sinclair on the judges panel. The World Food Championships return this fall to downtown.
CHARITY CHECK: “Rock of Ages” at the Venetian star Mark Shunock has decided that his June 16 edition of “Mondays Dark” will benefit the Rudy Foundation, which provides scholarship opportunities in education, sports and performing arts.
Mark will feature the Strip’s four resident Broadway shows — “Mamma Mia!” at Tropicana, “Million Dollar Quartet” at Harrah’s, “Jersey Boys” at the Paris and his “Rock of Ages” — in the showcase concert of Broadway musical hits at Vinyl in the Hard Rock Hotel.
COOL COMEDY-HOT CUISINE: For the first time in its 26 years, Cool Comedy-Hot Cuisine heads here with a fundraiser starring Bob Saget, Jay Leno and Ben Folds at House of Blues in Mandalay Bay on Thursday. A four-course dinner will be served by “Top Chef Masters” Susan Feniger, Mary Sue Milliken and Rick Moonen.
It’s all to benefit the Scleroderma Research Foundation in finding a cure for the hard-skin disease that attacks lungs, kidneys and gastrointestinal tracts with life-threatening consequences. Other celebrities are expected to drop by for impromptu performances and appearances.
Grammy winners Macklemore & Ryan Lewis celebrate the fourth anniversary of Surrender and Encore Beach Club at Steve Wynn’s Encore. My interview with Surrender and EBC nightlife guru Sean Christie was posted on May 15.
Guns N’ Roses: An Evening of Destruction continues at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel through Saturday.

In the spirit of Venice, The Venetian is a little piece of romantic Italy right here in Las Vegas. The Venetian is an "all-suite" hotel, with rooms accented with plush linens and Italian marble. The 4,027 suites are divided into two towers: The 36-story Venetian Tower that offers guests a taste of luxurious Las Vegas and the Venezia suites, which guarantee 12 floors of high-end elegance. The top five floors are the hotel's highest level of luxury with its private access, concierge lounge, upgraded features and even a dedicated staff.
The flagship of Venetian nightlife is TAO, an ultra-hip nightclub located inside of TAO Asian Bistro. V Bar is The Venetian's super smooth ultra lounge, made by the owners of New York City's club Lotus and Los Angeles' super swank Sunset Room.
The Venetian features 19 restaurants including Thomas Keller's award-winning French restaurant Bouchon, Mario Batali's B&B Ristorante, Aquaknox for fresh seafood and the 42,000 square foot TAO Asian Bistro. There's also the food court inside the Canal Shoppes for those looking for a quick bite.
Guests can float along The Grand Canal Shops in an authentic Italian gondola ride and pass stores like Burberry and Kenneth Cole along the way. And if you haven't caught a real celeb, on the street in Vegas, you can head over to Madame Tussauds to check out a wax version.
