Neither Floyd Mayweather Jr. nor Marcos Maidana delivered a knockout at the WBC/WBA welterweight unification fight at MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday night, but a celebrity contingent from Hollywood and NYC packed a punch with party after party.
The majority decision went to our undefeated Las Vegas champ, now 46-0, and outside the ring it went to Khloe Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Puff Daddy and Ludacris.
Here’s our official action-packed scorecard:
Controversial pop prince Justin Bieber at the Hard Rock Hotel enjoyed lunch from Nobu served in his suite and then relaxed in a poolside cabana before dinner at 35 Steaks + Martinis. Justin used Twitter and Instagram to post photographs of himself on his balcony overlooking the Strip.
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” starlet Kylie Jenner, at the Hard Rock Hotel’s Breathe Pool and rumored to be dating the Biebs, also posted a photo of herself on Twitter. Justin, however, just missed Kylie but instead hung out with model Yovanna Ventura, actor Kyle Massey, rappers Khalil Sharief and Blake Kelly and Internet personalities Andrew “King Bach” Bachelor and DeStorm Power.
They took over the exclusive area for the day enjoying a private acrylic-edged pool with three peek-a-boo cutouts in the floor that act as skylight windows to the lower-level cafe.
Nearby at Rehab, rapper Kendrick Lamar took over the dayclub to perform his hits. Guests included rappers Ab Soul and Jay Rock, NFL players Tim Jennings, Lance Briggs, Jacoby Ford and Mark Ingram Jr. , NBA player Ty Lawson, pro boxer Zab Judah and comedians Katt Williams and Dave Chappelle.
After the fight, Kylie joined her sister Khloe Kardashian for dinner with rappers Karim “French Montana” Kharbouch and Robert “Meek Mill” Williams at 35 Steaks + Martinis. The group then headed over to the nearby Joint for Puff Daddy’s after-fight party. There’s no question that Khloe and French are dating!
Just after 2 a.m. Sunday, Puff Daddy arrived at the Joint, where he hopped onstage with actor Tom Lister Jr. (Deebo from “Friday”) and rappers Durk “Lil Durk” Banks and Carlos “King Los” Coleman. The party officially started when French took center stage and performed his hits “Pop That” and “Ocho Cinco” before joining Khloe back at their table.
Puff Daddy sang his new single “Big Homie,” a remix to “Same Damn Time” and the ultimate throwback “It’s All About the Benjamins.” King Los also did an a cappella freestyle and Lil Durk rapped his hit “Dis Ain’t What U Want.”
The fight weekend continued Sunday at Rehab. Celebrities hanging poolside included Khloe, French, Meek, Luda, Young Jeezy, Lil Durk, Flo Rida and Quincy Brown, stepson of Puff Daddy, and boxers Danny “Swift” Garcia and Zab. French, Meek, Luda and Lil Durk entertained the crowd with surprise performances.
Khloe and French started their Las Vegas weekend with Jeff Beacher at his Beacher’s Madhouse in MGM Grand sitting a table away from brothers Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas. Also at Beacher’s: Stephen Dorff and Omar Miller Benson (“CSI Miami”).
Snoop Dogg launched his exclusive DJ and performance residency in his speakeasy Snoopadelic Cabaret at Tao in the Venetian. He took over the DJ decks and then the stage to perform a medley of his hits. Snoop gave shout-outs to Ginuwine, Trinidad James, Dash Mihok, Peter Facinelli and DJ and producer Jermaine Dupri all showing their support from VIP tables.
Nick Jonas and girlfriend Olivia Culpo (2013 Rhode Island, Miss USA and Miss Universe) partied at Daylight Beach Club at Mandalay Bay enjoying the sounds of DJ Sebastian Ingrosso, who latter spinned at nearby Light. Hunky Nick sported a white tank top, black shorts and boating shoes, while gorgeous Olivia stunned in a bikini and orange cover-up.
Kylie, dressed casually in jean shorts and a T-shirt, dined at chef Brian Massie’s Stack in the Mirage and enjoyed Pigs in a Blanket, LG Signature Wings, tater tots and shellfish. Also at Stack, Luda before his show at nearby 1 OAK. Before his red carpet appearance, he took photos in the nightclub’s special bottle presentation cars backstage. In the crowd: UFC champion Georges St.-Pierre and rapper Too $hort.
Singer and actress Christina Milian and hubby-to-be Jas Prince took in the sun and the scene at Liquid Pool Lounge at Aria and later cheered on Fabolous at his red carpet and fight party at nearby Haze, where Fab, who wore a colorful printed jacket, white ball cap, shades and jeans, started the party at 1 a.m. and kept it going until it was time for his early morning flight to Miami. Also at Haze, Anthony Bennett (former UNLV star and No. 1 draft pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers) and NFL players Clif Avril (Seattle Seahawks), Mark Ingram (New Orleans Saints) and Josh Gordon and Greg Little (Cleveland Browns).
Rapper Wale went directly from the fight to the Bank in Bellagio for his red carpet party and performance. Fans at the club sang along to his hits including “No Hands,” “Rack City” and “Clappers.”
And two tasty notes to end: Marcos dined at Greens and Proteins for his pre-fight meal against Floyd. He had protein pancakes, egg whites, turkey sausage and a wellness drink. He also returned Sunday. And actor Michael J. Fox dined at Andrea’s in Steve Wynn’s Encore post-fight, enjoying chef Joseph Elevado’s small plates of yellowtail sudachi, chili shrimp tempura, crispy tuna, shishito peppers and sliders.
On Tuesday, we’ll have a rundown of partying celebrities outside the boxing ring and world.
